Pamela Blanc has been teaching since 1979 and was a Director of ATI-LA from 1988-1997. Her teachings have been enriched through study with Carl Stough. Pamela recently completed a program at the American Center for the Alexander Technique in New York City called The Art of Breathing. Pamela oversees Continuing Education Programs and is an active member of the American Society for the Alexander Technique. Pamela teaches at El Camino College; California State University, Northridge; is on faculty with Opera Works; and has a private practice in West Los Angeles.
Lyn Charlsen* was certified to teach the Alexander Technique in 1977 and is currently the Director of Training at ATI-LA. She has taught at the USC School of Theater and for the California State University at Los Angeles. Lyn has conducted courses for Alexander training programs and the general public on a national basis. She maintains a private practice in Van Nuys.
Michael D. Frederick* trained as Alexander teacher in England beginning in the early 1970's with Walter & Dilys Carrington and in America with Marjorie Barstow. He is the founding director of the first three International Congresses on the Alexander Technique. Michael has organized and taught over 100 Alexander workshops in the U.S. and Europe. He has also taught for the Los Angeles Philharmonic Institute and for over a decade at the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego. Michael is former Chairman of the American Society for the Alexander Technique. Currently he specializes in working with actors in Los Angeles.
Sydney Laurel Harris educated as an actor and creative drama teacher, was certified at the American Center for the Alexander Technique in San Francisco in 1977. She continued as an assistant trainer in the training course until 1984. In addition to her private practice, Sydney has taught the Technique at pain clinics in San Francisco and Oxnard, CA., at the music department of U. of California at Santa Barbara, and at The Music Academy of the West. Her work has evolved over many years to make use of additional experience and training in complementary psychological, developmental and motivational insights. Her current workshop series is entitled "The Body is the Messenger".
Babette Markus* was certified as an Alexander teacher at the American Center for the Alexander Technique (ACAT) , New York in 1979. She recently completed a year-long post-graduate course through ACAT,
The Art of Breathing, taught by Jessica Wolf of Yale University. She is the director and founder of Bio -Ergonomics/Alexander Technique (BEAT). Babette currently teaches in the School of Theater at both USC and California Institute of the Arts. She has taught at UCLA Extension and the University of Judaism, and maintains a private practice in Los Angeles. She has an extensive dance and movement background. Babette is also associated with Dr. Karlis Ullis and the Sports Medicine and Preventive Medical Group in Santa Monica, California.
Frances Marsden* trained at the Constructive Teaching Centre in London with Walter and Dilys Carrington. She spent two years on the faculty at the Urbana Center for the Alexander Technique, directed by Joan and Alex Murray. Frances has taught at the Pasadena City College and the California Institute of Technology. She maintains a private practice in North Hollywood and Pasadena.
Jean-Louis Rodrigue was certified as a teacher in 1980. He specializes in working with performers. Jean-Louis has been on the faculty at the UCLA Department of Theater since 1988 and has taught for the UCLA Music Department since 1998. He founded and taught the Alexander program for the Los Angeles Philharmonic Institute, coached the artists of the Cirque du Soleil, and is currently the resident Alexander teacher at the Verbier Festival & Academy in Switzerland.
